Gold Pistachio with White Shell & Script

Iranian artist Keyvan Ferhi creates bespoke pieces for the Aga Khan Museum Shop inspired by the rich fritware and ceramic collection within the Museum’s Bellerive Room and Permanent Collection. Each piece is handcrafted and painted with floral and calligraphic motifs, promoting the rich legacy of Persian decorative design, while infusing elements of western artistic stylization.

These ceramic pistachios have engraved on them ʾĀyat al-Kursī (Arabic: آيَة الْكُرْسِي, ʾĀyat al-Kursī) often known in English as The Throne Verse is the 255th verse of the 2nd surah of the QuranAl-Baqarah. The verse speaks about how nothing and nobody is regarded to be comparable to Allah.

This is one of the best-known verses of the Quran and is widely memorized and displayed in the Islamic world.
