A handmade ceramic pomegranate with Persian calligraphy and floral patterns. Beautiful on its own or in a cluster.
Iranian artist Kevyan Fehri creates bespoke pieces for the Aga Khan Museum Shop inspired by the rich fritware and ceramic collection within the Museum's Bellerive Room and Permanent Collection. The birds represent flight from oppression and new beginnings, while the pomegranates represent bounty, health and prosperity. Each piece is handcrafted and painted with floral and calligraphic motifs, promoting the rich legacy of Persian decorative design, while infusing elements of western artistic style. Fehri recently emigrated to Canada and works closely with the Museum Collection to create pieces that are worth of conversation and are representative of his Iranian heritage.
