Each composition showcases a road adorned with Persian rugs, symbolizing the shared cultural heritage of displaced individuals. As viewers engage with these powerful visuals, they encounter various obstacles such as sandstorms, towering walls, aircraft, and even a mysterious black hole obstructing the path. Despite the vast, empty desert surrounding the rug-lined road, access remains exclusive, reflecting the collective struggles of an entire population. The overcast and foreboding skies create a sense of impending danger and uncertainty.

At Emergeast x Aga Khan Museum Shop, we believe everyone has a story to tell. Beyond the aesthetics, the story and inspirations behind an artwork can support one’s personal narrative and journey thereafter. Through building our Urbanite community of collectors, we aim to expand and develop a cultural appetite for the arts and beyond.
