Ruhania-Hand of Fatima Necklace

Notify me when this product is available:

Magical in form and design, this necklace is an unconventional twist on the traditional hamsa. The hamsa is a palm-shaped amulet popular through the Middle East and North Africa that symbolizes protection. It is commonly used in jewellery and wall hangings, predominately by Muslims and Jews, to defend against the evil eye. It has been theorized that it originates from Ancient Egypt or Carthage (modern-day Tunisia) and maybe associated with the Goddess Tanit.

This necklace, designed exclusively for The Aga Khan Museum, is made of lapis lazuli beads with a pendant of 18kt gold and .25ct diamonds. The lapis lazuli was sourced from Afganistan.

Please contact a sales representative at The Aga Khan Museum Shop for further details.
