Jalal Sepehr, an Iranian photographer, presents a distinctive perspective on global affairs with his thought-provoking "Red Zone" series. This collection delves into the constant state of alarm and anxiety experienced by Middle Eastern populations amid ongoing conflicts and political turmoil.
Each composition showcases a road adorned with Persian rugs, symbolizing the shared cultural heritage of displaced individuals. As viewers engage with these powerful visuals, they encounter various obstacles such as sandstorms, towering walls, aircraft, and even a mysterious black hole obstructing the path. Despite the vast, empty desert surrounding the rug-lined road, access remains exclusive, reflecting the collective struggles of an entire population. The overcast and foreboding skies create a sense of impending danger and uncertainty.
